Here are the questions we get asked most often.
What areas of tax can you help with?
I'm a CPA accountant and Registered Tax Agent with 13+ years experience in personal and investment tax. That means I can help with almost any personal tax question you can throw at me!
I'm happy to help with all employee income & expenses questions, investments, capital gains tax, and small business tax questions.
If you have a larger business, sophisticated investments, foreign income or other advanced tax questions that will take longer to answer I may need to invoice you separately for that time. I'll always chat to you about this in advance.
Please note I am not a licensed financial advisor and so I cannot give investment or superannuation advice.
What is your response time?
You can usually expect a response from me by the next business day, though please understand this may be a little longer during busy periods, or occasionally when I am on leave.
Who will answer my questions?
It will always be me, Jess Murray CPA, answering your questions personally.
Who can subscribe to the package?
I am a Registered Tax Agent in Australia and so I can only advise on Australian tax law. Therefore this package is only open to Australians (including both tax residents and non-tax residents) and Australian property owners. If you are looking for help with taxes for another country I'm sorry I can't help.
What if I don't want to continue?
You can cancel your subscription at any time. Your welcome email will contain a link to our self-management portal where you can instantly cancel your subscription.
We will email you a reminder a week ahead of your renewal date each year to make sure you're still on board.
Is the fee tax deductible?
Yes absolutely! You can claim 100% of the fee as a tax deduction at Item D10 on your tax return - Cost of Managing Tax Affairs.
Can you lodge my tax return?
Your Unlimited Email Tax Support package does not include tax return lodgment, though this can be billed separately if you'd like me to prepare your tax return for you.
Your package does include any questions you may have while lodging your own tax return via MyGov.
Can you call me on the phone?
No, this package covers email advice only. Phone consultations are only available at certain times of year, and will be billed separately.
Can you answer a question for my friend?
This is a one-person package, so I can't answer questions you ask on behalf of other people. I'm happy to answer questions that relate to both you and your spouse, because of course the tax affairs of couples are naturally intertwined.
Can you give financial advice?
No, I am not a licensed financial advisor so I cannot provide advice on investments or superannuation, I can only provide tax information.
